In !949, Joe Rogers bought a house from Tom Forkner never knowing that they would own a restaurant together. Joe Rogers used to work in a restaurant, while Tom Forkner used to work in a real estate business. They wanted to build a restaurant to deliver a unique experience, a business that offered delicious food at excellent prices.

Waffle House opened in 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia on Labor Day. It has 1,500 restaurants in 25 states, opening 24 hours a day , 7 days a week. The founders recognized that people patronize the restaurant searching for good, fast food.

Waffle House hires affable, hard working, and responsible people, a policy that promotes excellent customer service. All employees have a goal when they work, a vision that all their customers leave satisfied and pleased. Managers always work different shifts to support employees, seeing that their waitresses make customers happy.

With their initial success, the company expanded creating many new restaurants in Georgia. Customers quickly recognized their yellow sign and building shape, and the business expanded in both new and existing markets. Texas currently has 99 Waffle Houses, 72 in Mississippi, and 64 in Kentucky.

Preparing all food freshly made the kitchen in full view of customers, patrons enjoy that causal and informal atmosphere . Although Waffle House makes different kinds of food, customers  still mostly know it for their excellent breakfast. They try to make all food tasteful so that customers will have a pleasant dining experience.

Since 1955, Waffle House has served over 877,388,027 waffles, making it their signature dish. Not only do they serve breakfast items, but also lunch and dinner meals, such as hamburgers, pork chops, Smithfield bacon, and many more good dishes. They serve coffee every day, and over one years time, the amount sold would fill up the  Olympic swimming pools!

Waffle House–a unique American teat for everyone!
