Rice University, a renowned private school, established in 1912 by William Marsh Rice in Houston, Texas, ranks as one of the country’s top private research universities, and the number one university in Texas.

Known for its eminent Biochemistry, Psychology, Bio-engineering and Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering programs, Rice University reports a 4-year graduation rate of 82%. It also has a highly competitive 14% student acceptance rate, matriculating many students that hold a top 10% class rank, earning SAT scores ranging from 700 to 800 for critical reading, math, and writing.

Also recognized for its fantastic student satisfaction rates and excellent campus quality, Rice places second of universities with the highest quality of life and sixth for happiest students. The Rice college system offers many opportunities for students to engage in campus activities, such as sports, social outings, and more. This allows students to gradually involve themselves as they feel comfortable, making the system suitable for all Rice students.

With pride in its values, Rice sets student standards by an acronym for the word Rice. The R stands for responsibility, I for integrity, C for community, and E for excellence. All of these traits students must acquire before identifying themselves as a Rice University graduation candidate.

Although Rice University remains a competitive school to matriculate, statistics still have shown that if students acquire community working experience, varsity athletics, officer positions in any clubs/organizations, debate, band or orchestra, student council, choir, or  hold any class officer positions, they have a better chance at receiving acceptance.

By excelling in academics, promoting student satisfaction, maintaining campus quality, securing strong safety, and insuring efficient administration, Rice stands as one of the nation’s top 10 universities. Undoubtedly, this urban college that functions as a dream school for many prospective students has many distinguished programs at its campus!

Students, consider studying at Rice University!
