James Richards, a student who has attended New Caney High School for four years now, has finally reached the end of his high school education. He expresses his joy about graduating more and more as the time approaches. He has many future plans and wonderful ideas,  including working as a football coach and teaching others a winning attitude.

Richards started his freshman year at New Caney High School in 2014-2015. He came to high school playing the football team’s middle line-backer as number seven and continued his football career his sophomore year. The coaches saw his notable football skills and invited him back to the team for next year.

During his sophomore year, he also participated in track and field performing long jump. He had many successes placing in special meets almost every time he jumped. He also played football during his sophomore year, and since he performed well in both football and track, he decided to play both of these sports his junior year.

Showing  dependable speed, yet admirable poise, James played exceptional football during his junior year. Starting on JV as a receiver, he caught five receiving touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns to end the season. Although he performed well for the New Caney High School Eagles’ football team, still he decided to not play football his senior year, focusing on preparing for college.

During his junior year, he also took part in track and field for a second year and placed first in every event leading up to the district meet where he performed successfully. Noticing his abilities in long jump, he again plays this sport during his senior year.

In his spare time, James loves to watch sports, play video games, and landscape yards. He aspires to study sports in college at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. His father truly encourages him to succeed in life.

James Richards- not a customary student, but one of the shining stars at New Caney High School!
