Tamara Aiken began her New Caney High School career as the secretary for the entire counseling department. She previously spent 12 years within the district working various duties until her recent appointment.

Mrs. Aiken has a busy schedule during the day, acting as a director for lost kids, leading dispatch coordinator for children needing counseling, or simply assisting counselors. Showing assiduous work habits, yet strong problem solving wisdom, she continuously accommodates her department and students in the school. Mrs. Aiken also has the privilege of directing a distinguished student group known as student aides  who help her and the counselors with daily errands.

Her office location tremendously influences her daily routine, and sometimes wandering students often find themselves asking for distant classroom directions. Other times, rather than only answering questions, she helps them with their many educational needs and requests. Throughout the year, her centrally located office will help students needing directions while she continues  performing her duties requested by the many counselors at New Caney High School, demonstrating her multitasking ability and skills value.

Not only has Mrs. Aiken gained employment in this district, but also has a dedicated compassion for her family. Her daughter currently attends New Caney High School and has another daughter who graduated a year ago. Along with both her alumnus and current student daughter, her husband also conducts the acting band director position at New Caney High School.

Unlike lame employees who show a lethargic attitude toward their work, her diligent assistance has helped make the 2017-2018 school year begin successfully. Her new found career has suited her work ethic and people skills, facilitating a more efficient and effective New Caney High School counseling team. As Mrs. Aiken’s career progresses, her newly acquired knowledge and experience will surely help her future endeavors.

Brightening the day with her smile. Mrs. Aiken–a secretary of excellence!
