The Houston Astros, originally coined as the Houston Colt .45s, entered the National League in 1962 with the New York Mets as an expansion team. The renamed team played their last game at Colt Stadium in 1964 against the fallen World Champion participants of 2018, the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Currently inscribed on the 2017 World Series Championship trophy, the Astros remain the first franchise in MLB history to win a pennant. Defeating the New York Yankees in the ALCS in both the National League and the American League, the Astros proudly display their pennant.

The top players achieving high batting averages within the team include: Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa, and George Springer in bold letters when listed on charts.

Jose Altuve, a young baseball phenomenon, creates excitement within the stands when he enters the field. He stands 5 feet, 6 inches, with other players towering above him. The force driven from a five foot baseball player who managed to hit homers drew crowds around Houston with a large number of fans supporting and cheering when he hit.

The Astros act as a strong role model for younger and older people, who view the different nationalities within the team. Many players come from different countries, but bond and play superbly as a team.

Carlos Correa, originating from Puerto Rico, overcame numerous language barriers as he attended school. He knew his vision of attaining a position in the MLB remained a possibility when he continued to further in age. Therefore, he practiced his English in preparation for the future. Correa, not living in the U.S. as a child, accepts his opportunity to play for the Astros franchise and the team returned the favor by befriending him on his first day.

The Houston Astros–a barrier-breaking successful team!
