Monday, December the 24th, at 5:00pm, the First Baptist Church of Porter will hold its second annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship Service, celebrating the joys of the season as Christmas approaches.

Troy Cates, the church’s minister of music and worship, and the FBC Praise Team, a band of volunteer musicians and singers, will begin the celebration, leading the congregation in carols and songs of Christmas. As the singing continues, members will use their candles, distributed as each guest arrives, to pass a flame, candle to candle, around the church, until each is lit.

Between songs and events of the evening, actors of the church’s drama organization will deliver dramatic monologues, representing the different perspectives of the Christmas story.

After a brief introduction and offertory, Senior Pastor, Bro. Rob Ray will preach a short message, explaining the Biblical account of Christmas and return the stage to Cates.
Once again, lit by several hundred candles, the congregation will sing songs of praise and of Christ’s birth before dismissal.

Located at 24570 FM 1314, Porter, TX, the First Baptist Church of Porter has plenty of space for all community members, and the church invites anyone interested in the service to attend, saying “Come join us at First Baptist Porter as we celebrate the birth of Jesus with a beautiful candlelight service for the whole family.”
